Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what data floppyskill.com (“FloppySkill”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and who we share it with. By using the Site you agree to this policy.
1. What we collect
- Order info you give us: your email address, optional name, and the items you buy. Your email is what lets you log back in: we send a 6-digit sign-in code to it.
- Payment info: we do not see or store your card details. Payment is handled securely by Stripe, which collects payment data under its own privacy policy.
- Usage data: basic analytics events (pages visited, checkout started, purchase completed) and technical data like browser type, so we can run and improve the Site.
- Security data: we record your IP address briefly when you request a sign-in code or use the store, purely to rate-limit abuse and protect accounts. It is not used to profile or advertise to you.
2. Cookies & tracking
We run one advertising tracker: the Meta Pixel, on our store and checkout pages only. It tells Meta when a page is viewed, a floppy is added to your Floppy Box, checkout is started, and an order is completed, so that we can tell whether the ads we pay for actually work. It sets Meta cookies and can be used by Meta to show you ads elsewhere. We do not send Meta your email address, name, or any payment detail, and it does not run on your library pages.
How to turn it off. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal we do not load the pixel at all — nothing is sent and no Meta cookie is set. You can also opt out on this device at any time from our tracking switch below.
We run no other third-party analytics: no Google Analytics, and nothing else that follows you around the web. What we store in your own browser beyond the above is only what makes the Site work: your light/dark preference and your library sign-in, kept on your device. Our own visit counts are recorded on our server and are not tied to advertising.
3. Why we use your data
- to deliver your Products and give you access to your library;
- to send you your receipt and order-related emails;
- to run, secure, and improve the Site;
- to measure and improve our marketing.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that make the store work:
- Stripe — to process your payment securely;
- Cloudflare — hosting, database, and file storage;
- Resend — to send your order and sign-in emails;
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising measurement via the Meta Pixel described in section 2, unless you have opted out. We share page and purchase events and the order total, never your email, name, or card details.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Data retention
We keep your order records so you can re-download your Products and for our own accounting. You can ask us to delete your personal data (see Section 7), subject to records we’re required to keep.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep it safe.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or object to certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected] and we’ll respond.
8. Children
The Site isn’t directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the “Effective date” above shows the latest version.
